Yes, the TENS 7000 comes with the carrying case, manual, a quick reference guide, the unit itself, one set of lead wires, one package of electrodes, and one 9V battery. You will be able to receive it in the mail and start using it right away. However, we do recommend adding extra electrodes with your purchase if you are unable to get them locally in your town. The electrodes that come packaged with your device with last between 10-15 uses on average before they do not stick anymore. It will save you on future shipping costs to add electrodes with your purchase if need be, so you do not have to reorder again in 2-3 weeks.

All of our electrotherapy devices, including the TENS 7000, come with one pack of four individual electrodes with the adhesive gel already on them. These electrodes typically get about 10-15 uses per pack, depending on how frequently they are used and for how long, as well as the user's skin type. We do recommend to stock up on some extra packs of electrodes in order to save on future shipping costs, but it is totally up to the user.

It is a contraindication to use any sort of electrotherapy device, such as a TENS unit, when you have a Pacemaker. Before considering an electrotherapy treatment, it would be strongly recommended to first consult with your physician, or other doctor, to see if it would be a good choice for your particular needs.

Yes, the electrodes that come standard with each unit are self-adhesive and reusable. Most users typically get about 10-15 uses per pack of 4, which varies on such factors as treatment session length, storage conditions, skin type, etc., so it will always vary from patient to patient. We recommend stocking up on extra packs of electrodes to keep you covered for the foreseeable future, and not have to keep coming back to repeatedly purchase smaller quantities and pay for shipping each time.

We carry over 40 types of electrodes, most of which come with the same industry-standard, 2mm pin-style connection for compatibility with most standard lead wires, so you are welcome to use any of our electrodes with the TENS 7000, or any other device we carry. The main differentiating factors are the size and shape of the pads. Some electrodes also have a slightly thicker adhesive gel, to make them last longer, but you can't really go wrong either way. Choosing electrodes mostly comes down to personal preference and what you feel would be best for the area of the body you are looking to treat.

Our units come standard with one pack of 1.5" x 1.5" Tan Cloth electrodes, but you can certainly use other sized electrodes that we offer in order to best treat your particular case.

Make sure both electrodes are placed firmly on the skin about 2-6 inches apart from one another. Try re-positioning the lead wire about 90 degrees in the channel port, and it may also be a good idea to try the wire in the other channel of the device that is not being used. The issue may then lie in the lead wire itself, or possibly even a component of the device, if neither wires output stimulation on either channel. It is a recommended to consult the Troubleshooting section in the Instruction Manual as well.

This device does treat pain, however it targets the nerves, not the muscles. TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation which targets your nerve endings to block the signal of pain for reaching your brain, providing a temporary relief of pain in the stimulated area. If you are looking for muscle stimulation you would need an EMS (Electronic Muscle Stimulator). We carry individual units offering this therapy as well as combination units that have both modalities within one unit. You cannot use TENS and EMS at the same time, but you can switch within the same unit between whether you are using TENS therapy or EMS therapy. You can find all of our units listed underneath Eletrotherapy Units.
As for the electrodes, there are many different choices and sizes we carry that work with all of our devices. Our units have standard leads with a 2mm pin connection so as the long the electrodes you are using have a pin connection 2mm of diameter they will work with our units. You can find all of our electrodes listed under our electrodes tab and you will be able to tell by the picture if they work with your device as they all have pigtails coming out of them to connect the lead wires to. Using an Alkaline or Rechargeable 9V battery with the device would certainly last longer than a more economical "Heavy Duty" battery, considering the device includes an LCD screen which will typically drain an economical battery quicker. At the end of the day, though, a 9V battery is a 9V battery and the device will indeed run off of any 9V.

Depending on the specific type of 9V battery you use to power the device, the parameters you have set up on your unit, and duration of each treatment session, you should be able to get several hours of use out of a battery before needing to discard it (or recharge if using a rechargeable 9V battery). Make sure to fully power off the unit after each treatment session by adjusting both amplitude dials at the top all the way back down to "0" too.

Since TENS units deliver small electrical currents through the skin.
