Q: Hello, I was wondering about the safety of the ultrasound machine. We have ordered one and have tried to use the 3 W/cm^2 option, but for some reason, the probe heats up to unusually high temperatures (~80 C). We've tried on both frequencies, and differing duty cycles, but the high temperature is still there. Is there any reason why this would be happening? Could our probe be defective, or is it that the device heats when used with higher powers? Thanks!

The device runs off of an AC adapter with input voltage 100-240V, meaning it will work just fine almost anywhere in the world. The only thing you may ever need extra is a universal travel adapter just to make the plugs of the adapter fit in your country's outlet plug style. You should have no issues finding something like that locally.

A: The SoundCare Plus is powered only by an A/C Adapter that is included with each device. It is not battery-operated.

A: The SoundCare Plus has been on the market for several years now, and is still very widely used in different doctors' offices and clinics throughout the US, and abroad as well, for professional ultrasound therapy.

This would be a question better directed to the manufacturer, as it is possible that there may be a defect somewhere, although this would certainly be a rare and isolated incident if that were the case because this is one of the most popular therapeutic ultrasound devices on the market designed for clinical settings. You may want to contact Roscoe Medical for a potential warranty claim, whose information should also be included in the instruction manual that came with the device.
