Q: I'm trying to reproduce the below protocol for taVNS. Is this possible with this device coupled with ear clip electrodes? If not, can you recommend a unit that would work? Thanks! The patient stimulated the cymba concha of the left ear 5 min twice every day with a handheld probe comprising two electrodes with carbonized silicone plugs attaching to the skin in the auricle. The TENS unit generating the electrical signals delivers an asymmetrical bi-phasic square pulse with a pulse width of 200 microseconds at 20 Hz. The pulse amplitude during taVNS was varied between 2-4 mA.

Yes, the "InTENSity 7" is the exact same device as the "TENS 7000" from the same manufacturer. Just re-branded by the manufacturer so that it joins and falls in line with their larger "InTENSity" line of digital portable electrotherapy devices.

While TENS units are primarily used for pain management, they are not specifically designed for muscle building. TENS therapy stimulates nerves to provide pain relief, but it does not generate the same effects as targeted muscle-building exercises or strength training. For muscle building, we recommend exploring exercise routines, weightlifting, or consulting a fitness professional who can guide you towards suitable exercises and techniques, in addition to a more appropriate electrotherapy modality for that which would be EMS/NMES (Electrical Muscle Stimulation / Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation) which we do have other devices for that you are welcome to explore.

The InTENSity 7 has the capability to be programmed within the parameters you have provided. You however, will not be able to set the intensity to 2-4mA. The InTENSity 7's pulse amplitude is parabolic so it gradually increases as you turn the top dial. So instead of the InTENSity 7 I recommend the InTENSity Twin Stim III (Part # DI3717) or if you are wanting a unit that also has Microcurrent (commonly used for taVNS) I recommend the InTENSity Select Combo (Part # DI8195). Both units will allow you to have full control over the pulse amplitude. The ear clip electrodes are also compatible with both of these units.

A: The TENS 7000 does not apply to this bundle (even though they are similiar units). The 5 free packs are only bundled with the InTENSity 7.
