Can you use unit while battery is recharging?

Unfortunately, for the 2nd Generation InTENSity devices, the battery charger does not also function like an AC Adapter so that you can use the unit while plugged into an outlet or computer via USB. If using it regularly, you may want to consider charging the unit overnight or while not in use, so that you have a full charge when beginning your treatment.

How long do the electrodes last? Is it recommended to buy additional when you order one?

As a general rule of thumb, most users will get about 10-15 uses per pack of 4, which varies on such factors as how long you use them at a time, storage conditions, skin type, etc. It is always recommended to consider stocking up early on whenever purchasing a device, to take advantage of not having to pay shipping costs separately for smaller packages of replacement electrodes later on down the line.

How do you get this unit to perform a message? The presets are only continuous pulse treatments.

can this item be taken on a plane in my carry-on?

Yes, you should have no issues bringing the device with you in a carry-on bag.

No batteries needed correct?

The unit comes standard with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, similar to a modern-day smartphone, already inside the carrying case, so that you have everything you need to start your treatments right away.

How does the recharable unit work?

This device is powered with a lithium ion rechargeable battery versus the usual 9V battery and/or AC adapter. The battery is charged by connecting the charger to the unit itself with the rechargeable battery inside. You are not able to use the device while it is connected to the charger and recharging itself, but you are able to recharge the battery over and over so you do not have to buy a new one when it dies.

Can you use the unit directly plugged into electric outlet and not use battery ?

The 2nd generation line of the InTENSity devices, including this InTENSity 12 device, are powered strictly by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, similar to a modern-day smartphone. The devices do include an AC adapter with USB cord as well, however, this cord/adapter is designed solely as a charger for the battery itself while plugged in, and you can not actually use the device while it is plugged in and charging. Most users will just charge the battery overnight, when needed, that way the unit is always ready to go the next time you need it.

What size electrodes does this unit use?

Any of the 40+ options of electrodes that we currently carry are going to be compatible with every electrotherapy device that we carry as well. The 2mm-diameter metal pin-style connector of a unit's lead wire that plugs into the electrodes is an industry-standard connection type, and that is what all of our units/electrodes feature, so they are all universal and interchangeable. It really comes down to choosing whichever size/shape pad you feel would be the most appropriate and practical to apply to the area of the body you are looking to treat.

Massage Therapist

I recently purchased this TENS unit and its been great. This device is incredibly easy to use with its simplified design. It has helped me get a great deal of relief for treating myself and recommending to my clients. The only thing I think that would make this better if it didn't make as much noise when clicking buttons and if you didnt have to turn down the intensity in order to turn it higher.

Although it is not IFC, the shoulder setting feels very much like IFC when electrodes are placed criss-crossed over B upper traps and rhomboids. Good battery life on charge. Highly recommended over the TENS without rechargable battery. I would run through 1 9V battery with less than 3 uses at 60 min increments. Will be recommending this unit to my patients.

Pain Relief!

I bought 2 of these in late 2017 after back surgery. I've used the heck out of them and finally needed new ones. I have 2 so while 1 is charging, I have another I can use. I love this model and all the options. Also important was the long run time before it turns off automatically (90 mins max, down to 5 min). I like the auto lock and pause functions, too.

Excellent product. Was extremely skeptical, however this is the best thing. Used it twice a day for a week or two and my pain was minimized extremely. After a month, gone completely. Doctors told me it could take up to a year to heal. This machine shortened that by 9 months. Very highly recommend. The only negative was the set up. Call the phone number for assistance, if needed. They were very, very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable

Relief for plantar fasciitis.

I have been using these for 5 days two 20 minutes session. I already feel less pain from my plantar fasciitis. You will need to do some homework as to where to place the electrodes to get the best benefit. To me it’s like a 20 minute foot massage. Fast shipping and fair price for the unit.

Works as advertized

I purchased the inTENsity 12 Digital TENS unit for my son that was suffering with lower back and leg pain (sciatic nerve). There was some skepticism at first but it worked well after he learned how to use it. if you purchase this type of product make sure you buy lots of electrodes, especially if there are multiple users.

Excellent Buy!

I purchased this unit for my husband who had been suffering lower back pain. I had personally used a Tens unit for lower back pain myself but it was a much older model which was missing a couple of pieces so I decided to buy a new unit. I'm glad I did! The unit arrived quickly, comes nicely packaged had much higher intensity than the one I previously had. The unit also came with a bottle of Bio Freeze which makes for a perfect set. My husband couldn't have been more pleased with the results. In my opinion this unit is a great value but most importantly delivers results.

InTENSity 12

after owning another TENS unit i was wanting one that would provide more power and this one sure does that. i like being able to program this unit for specific results (U1) as well as using the 2 built in programs (P1 & P2). as with any TENS unit it did take a little getting used to however i find it quite simple to use and easy to change settings. it has provided me with far better results than my other unit and far more power. so far i have not needed anything over 40 on the power settings. i WOULD recommend this to anyone looking for a compact versatile TENS unit. were it not for a couple of very minor quirts i would gladly rate this 5 Star but for now i'm going with 4 Stars. i will give the BioFreeze 5 Stars. that stuff is amazing.

Helps with nerve pain

This is simple to use, though I had to get some pointers from my PT on placing the nodes as it didn’t come with much instruction on that. I’m using it to help relieve nerve pain due to a pinched nerve. Fast shipping and responsive customer support.

TENS unit helps bring back feeling in feet.

I purchased the inTENSity 12 -Rechargeable Tens unit for my 82 years "young" husband to help with his nephropathy in his feet. He says it has really made a difference. He can feel the tingling going into his feet and his feet have less pain after the treatments. Thank you for an excellent product.

Lightweight and rechargeable

I purchased this item as a “spare” for a much older model I purchased almost a decade ago. This newer version is lightweight, and rechargeable. It will pay for itself within a year of not replacing batteries every few weeks!

After Neck Surgery

I had complete neck surgery and a cage put in my neck for support. I needed therapy to help my neck muscles get back to normal. Using a tens unit was recommended as part of my therapy and the InTenSity 12 unit has really helped me to get back to normal. Great Help!

This unit works very well. We had one prior that took 9v batteries and were going through 1 a day. Those batteries are very expensive to be using 1 a day. This unit being a rechargeable one is a great solution to that problem.
