The Bauerfeind CaligaLoc Ankle Brace is a rigid stabilizing ankle brace designed to support the upper and lower ankle after injury, surgery, ligament damage, or chronic ankle instability. Its anatomically contoured frame helps counteract supination, or outward rolling of the ankle, while providing both medial and lateral ankle support.
CaligaLoc can be worn during the day as a supportive ankle splint in many comfort or athletic shoes, and it can also be worn without a shoe at night as a positioning splint. Unlike many stirrup-style ankle supports that rely on footwear for stability, CaligaLoc helps stabilize the ankle even when a shoe is not being worn. It also supports the foot in dorsiflexion, which may be helpful for moderate foot drop and ankle instability.
The Bauerfeind CaligaLoc ankle support may be recommended for patients who need a higher level of ankle control than a soft ankle brace can provide. Common uses include:
One of the key advantages of the CaligaLoc brace is its round-the-clock versatility. During the day, the narrow frame is designed to fit inside many types of footwear, depending on the shoe style and available room. At night, the brace can be worn without a shoe to help keep the ankle protected and positioned.
CaligaLoc is side-specific. Select Left if will be worn on your left ankle, or Right if will be worn on your right ankle.
Bauerfeind CaligaLoc sizing is based on U.S. shoe size.
