Q: Does the IF4000 need a rechargeable battery to use this adapter or will it work without a battery?

The IF 4000 will run off of either a 9V battery (disposable or rechargeable), OR the AC power adapter, which is always highly recommended to use for any Interferential treatment session, given that IF outputs at such a high frequency of current that it will drain any battery on any unit out there in the marketplace in less than an hour of continuous use.
